Take a Seat on the Yellow Submarine Couch

Welcome to the podcast studio! Inside this space you are welcome as you are, wearing your comfy clothes and ready to find the magic within the mess of motherhood. As Stephanie invites you in to join her on the yellow submarine couch, she’ll also pour you a cup of coffee, and even offer you a face mask or some eye brightening patches! This is the space where real and raw conversations happen – to break some stigmas and normalize real life motherhood.

Meet Your Host, Stephanie Booe

Stephanie Booe is a wife to her husband Alex – and together they really are just a couple of big kids! They enjoy having fun together and can make a game out of anything! Together they have two little boys, Aspen and Graham, and being their mom is Stephanie’s biggest honor. While the path to motherhood was not easy, being their mom has been an incredible experience. The Booe family also has a dog named Timber! He just turned one and while he is frustrating at times, he’s sure to make you laugh each day!

Stephanie is a stay at home mom, writer, content creator, and now podcaster. But she didn’t grow up expecting to have these career titles. So let’s give a little backstory to learn more about Stephanie.

Born to Be a Writer

Stephanie has always been a writer – it’s what she was meant to do! When she was younger, writing short stories in the middle of math class, she didn’t know the capacity of what the love of writing would bring her. Fast forward, Stephanie went to college for teaching and after some trial and error, she got her degree in teaching high school with a concentration in English – but she never entered the classroom.

Path to Parenthood

Stephanie ended up becoming a preschool teacher and taught the two-year-olds class and this is what lit her up. She loved this job and it brought her a lot of joy for many years. Simultaneously, this job is what sparked the thought of wanting to start their family. After a year of trying, her and Alex had nothing to show for it and in 2017 they were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Stephanie had always wanted to have a big family, have a lot of children, and so this diagnosis was heartbreaking. After pursuing medicated cycles, IUIs, and eventually IVF, they now have their two miracle boys.

God’s Plan

Right before the world shut down in 2020, Stephanie was pregnant with their first son, still working as a preschool teacher but hearing that they were going to be shut down for a couple weeks. During this time everyone was scared and nervous and in efforts to bring some positivity during this time, Stephanie started sharing devotions, bible studies, and other ways she was remaining positive, online. She wanted to create a positive space on social media because it was a hard time for everyone.

Everything from there started blossoming and she started to share more about their IVF journey. Once she started talking on Instagram stories, it really resonated with lots of people, which has now led to her incredible community that she has today! Stephanie started leaning into social media content creation and started to take it seriously and expanded it into her blog. They had also written a children’s book in the midst of their infertility journey and IVF, and this was officially published in summer of 2020. It was then that Stephanie had realized that this is what God had planned for her. To be able to connect with people online and encourage and support them. The book Alex and Stephanie published is called, You Were Worth the Wait, and you can find it on the Warrior Shop. This online shop was created by Stephanie to benefit the infertility community. There you can find resources, little pieces of hope, and more. You can check it out, here

The Heart Behind the Messy Motherhood Podcast

Stepping into motherhood, you might have rose-colored glasses, thinking that everything’s going to be really beautiful and perfect, and while there are absolutely moments of that– there’s also a lot of big challenges and hardships. This space has been created to talk about the hardships when struggling to conceive or the hardships that come along with motherhood. When we’re vulnerable, it creates a space where we can have true relationships with people and we can really heal through it. This podcast is meant to encourage, support, and love you. It’s meant to let you know that you’re not alone – that you’re seen and heard. Some things you’re experiencing are totally valid, but you don’t have to stay there. We do not have to stay in the mess. Stephanie is here to help you find the magic in the mess as you unpack the messy topics of motherhood together.
